Your Opportunity
Serco are currently recruiting experienced and highly motivated Aerodrome/ Tower Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCOs) to be a part of a great team based at DXB in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. If successful, you will be responsible for providing Air Traffic Control Services (ATC) to aircraft operating within the OMDB Control Zone and OMDB International Airport. Dubai Air Navigation Services (DANS) provides air navigation services at four airports in the UAE, one of which is the world's busiest airport for international passengers, where their mission is to empower and develop all their people in delivering world-leading air navigation services that exceed every standard, assure their customers, and shape global innovation.
Key Accountabilities
To Provide ATCOs with flight information and alerting services of IFR/VFR/Overflying flights in accordance with applicable rules regulations and unit procedures.
To Ensure self-briefing on the latest OB, TIs, SIs, NOTAMs, and weather information before assuming any ATCA duties.
Timely coordination with all ATS units to assist in providing a safe orderly and efficient ATC service.
To Update ATC Systems with accurate flight information and to ensure they can be viewed on the Secondary Surveillance Radar in order to enable the ATCOs to provide customers with a safe, orderly and efficient Air Traffic Service.
To co-ordinate any aerodrome issues with Airside Operations including flight diversions, emergencies, and landing permissions.
To provide on the job training and to carry out assessments for staff as directed by the Operational Training and Standards upon obtaining the applicable experience, qualification, and regulatory requirements.
To report all incidents and occurrences that have an impact on Aerodromes and Air Traffic Services, to the Watch Manager and Team Leader ATCA.
Undertakes similar or related duties as directed by senior management.
Specific Requirements
Educated to Diploma Level or equivalent.
Preferably the jobholder should be ICAO level 4 or higher in written and spoken English.
Should be computer literate.
It is preferred that the job holder has at least two years of experience in aviation-related jobs such as Air Traffic Controller, Air Traffic Controller Assistant, and Briefing Services.
A good understanding of ATM systems is an advantage.
