Here at More Community Leisure Trust our goal is to get more people, more active, more often. We provide affordable access to a wide range of sports and leisure facilities to support healthier and happier people across all segments of the local community. To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team - and right now we are looking to recruit for a General Manager to join the team.
This role will see you will lead, manage and be responsible for site(s) within Oxford Leisure, supporting the Contract Manager in developing the commerciality of the facility. You will provide effective leadership to the Duty Manager team with a clear focus on staff engagement and performance management.
In addition to this, you will implement and manage a robust health & safety culture, develop, agree, and manage a robust strategy and annual plan to meet the contractual requirements and business targets, ensure effective financial management is in place to achieve profit and cash targets, conduct regular team meetings, monitoring and taking action to ensure business targets are met and ensure the day to day running of the service is maximised to performance and use of equipment and labour.
Another aspect of this role will be to develop the appropriate suite of KPI’s and using the data to drive decision making and operational improvements, maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external, provide excellent leadership and management so all employees understand and adopt the wider strategies and plans and are motivated to achieve their objectives.
Serco manages these facilities on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Trust.
What you’ll need to do the role
First and foremost, you will be an experienced General Manager from a sporting, leisure, or hospitality background.
You should have a strong background in staff management, excellent customer service skills and be able to effectively motivate a team.
It would be beneficial if you hold NPLQ and/or Pool Plant qualifications.
