This is an exciting opportunity in a new contract where an ambitious and people-focused leader can make their mark building and delivering an exceptional and customer-focused facilities management/built-estate service to a very special customer.
The Area Manager will lead, inspire, drive and support their team, and their trusted delivery partners, to provide an estate that is safe, well-maintained, compliant, and that meets the needs of the demanding and varied estate users. They must do all that cost-efficiently and in-line with VIVO’s culture, values and objectives, while meeting and exceeding performance goals. Additionally, the role will also support the business growth strategy.
Our new opportunity is the award of the Hard FM Services for the Reserve Forces and Cadet Association (RFCA) assets in the Central and South-West regions, commonly called the Volunteer Estate. This supports training for the UK’s military reservists and cadet forces who pay a critical support role in the defence and security of the UK.
We are deploying a dedicated leadership team of four Area Managers to lead this contract, working with the Operations Director.
What You'll Need for this role:
- Responsible for the delivery of planned, reactive and project work delivery through our trusted delivery partners. Key to this is working with them to achieve their operational, cost and compliance targets and objectives, and working with them to continually improve delivery.
- Drive a culture of safety, with a focus on the wellbeing of the whole team.
- Championing VIVO’s “Customer First” objective, leading by example to ensure that the whole delivery model is focused on delivering a service that meets our customers’ needs and is empathetic and authentic.
- Development and maintenance of effective, warm and open relationships with military and civilian customers of every seniority, with a critical focus on maintaining robust relationships with our senior military customers.
- Lead by example, and demonstrate our values every day. Key to this is continually visiting our teams and sites to gather feedback, understand the teams’ and customer’s issues and opportunities, and being seen to “walk the talk”.
- Responsibility for growth and delivery of the Additional/Billable Works projects pipeline
- Establish/grow Net Zero programme of works across areas
- Monitor financial performance against budget and contribute to revenue growth
Qualifications & Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal) to ensure effective engagement with management team(s), employees, internal and external stakeholders
- Relevant professional qualification: CIOB/RICS (or working towards). Or equivalent qualification or comparable through experience or qualification in role related subject
- Sound knowledge and understanding of working within a repairs and maintenance service.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- etc.)
- Experienced in leading and managing a multi discipline team and sub-contract supply chain.
