Telehandler Driver
Location: Sandwell, B69 2BP
Permanent – 37 hours per week, Mon – Thursday 7:30 – 3:30 and Friday 7:30 – 3:00
Salary: £26,544.98

and managing waste and recycling services. Our waste and recycling services enable local authorities to deliver reliable waste
management services for a growing population while driving ongoing cost efficiencies.
Working closely with local authorities and residents and we strive to minimise waste and maximise participation in recycling.
We currently have a vacancy for a Telehandler Driver to join our friendly team in Sandwell.
This role will see you assist with the unloading and sorting of materials, take control of traffic situations to ensure safe working, assist with traffic direction and efficient movement of vehicles on site, assist with fly tips, stores and deliveries, take responsibility for the daily inspection and reporting procedure of all plant vehicles prior to and on completion of use and maintain all appropriate paperwork relevant to the jobs (such as delivery notes, site diary, etc).
In addition to this, you will assit in segregating waste to ensure maximum recycling, direct users to use facilities in a safe way, inform users of the 'rules' of the transfer station, work as part of the team to assist with security duties and depot management duties where necessary, report regularly to line managers on progress of works and any matters that arise that affect the service delivery, attend team briefings, put forward suggestions and ideas for improvements to the service, contribute to the cleanliness of the transfer station, and most importantly, maintain excellent customer and client relations, especially when dealing with members of the public.
About you
First and foremost, you’ll need to be an experienced Telehandler Driver with a valid licence, or be willing to gain this licence within the first 3 months of your employment, and hold a full UK driving licence.
Basic IT skills are essential to the role, as well as the willingness to work as part of the team and undertake additional duties wherever necessary.
Experience of working on a transfer station is not essential, but would be an advantage.
This role would suit someone who is keen to develop their skills and take on additional training opportunities.
