Location: Eagle Transfer Hub Tipton DY4 7BT
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, morning and afternoon on a rota to include a Saturday morning every 6th week

Serco provides a complete waste and recycling service on behalf of local authorities. We are experts in designing, implementing, and managing waste and recycling services. Our waste and recycling services enable local authorities to deliver reliable waste management services for a growing population while driving ongoing cost efficiencies.
Working closely with local authorities and residents and we strive to minimise waste and maximise participation in recycling.
Your role is to manage traffic flow in and out of the Eagle Recovery & Transfer Hub site, to load vehicles in a safe organised and timely manner.
What you'll need to do the role
- To carry out the loading of all waste materials in and out of the site
- To assist with the traffic direction and efficient movement of vehicles on site whilst ensuring a safe working environment
- Responsible for the daily inspection, general maintenance and reporting procedure – of all plant and vehicles prior to and on completion of usage
- To ensure correct processes and procedures are followed with associated operational paperwork
- To undertake security duties in opening and locking each working day as and when required
- To regularly report to line manager, progress on works and any matters which arise affecting the service delivery.
- To attend team briefings as and when required, putting forward suggestions and ideas for improvements in service provision.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the Eagle Recovery and Transfer Hub site – the building, plant, equipment, vehicle wash and general site area.
- To ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are followed and are met – including taking responsibility for the safety of all visitors to site.
- To ensure the Code of Conduct is always adhered to and the appropriate working procedures are followed.
- Be flexible to assist with any duties within Serco as instructed by your line manager
- To maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly members of the public.
- To carryout site inductions for users of the site
- To deal with contractors that come onto site and make sure they are inducted
- To carryout weighbridge operations as and when required and to ensure all data entered is correct.
- To be able to operate all on site machinery from the fire system, dust suppression and Odour control
- You will need to be able to work on you own initiative and within a team to help with daily decision making in the absence of the line manager
Skills Required
- Experience around Plant, Machinery and within a Transfer Station desirable
- Basic IT skills essential
- Is well organised
- Works well with others in a team environment
- Passionate and committed to seeking personal development / growth
