Support Administrator         

HMP Thameside

SE28 0FL

Full Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)

£22,922.16 (plus £6,200 London Weighting) 

 

Here at Serco, we currently have an opportunity for a Support Administrator to join our team at HMP Thameside. Thameside is a local category B resettlement prison in South-East London which can currently hold 1232 convicted and remand male prisoners.

 

As our Support Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of office processes which will include answering telephone calls and emails, dealing with incoming and outgoing correspondence, circulating minutes of meetings, ordering office supplies and ensuring the accuracy of the office calendar.

 

 

Main responsibilities of the role include:

 

  • General administrative duties.
  • Assist the management team in follow up actions to health and safety risk assessments.
  • Oversight of the calendar bookings.
  • Support in the collation of data for KPT’s and CDI’s and ensuring reporting deadlines are adhered to.
  • Support as point of contact for IT helpdesk, and support staff with IT queries where possible.
  • Assisting to coordinate in-house meetings.
  • Preparing documents, photocopying and document binding.
  • Inducting new staff to office processes and procedures.
  • Proof reading, review, coordination, and analysis of reports.

 

 

What you’ll need to do the role:

 

  • Effective communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Experience of using databases and data input.
  • Be a team worker with a flexible approach to work.
  • Ability to work quickly and calmly especially under pressure.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Knowledge of office processes.
  • Previous administration experience is desirable.
