HMP Dovegate is a Category B adult male facility near Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. Serco cares for up to 1060 male adult prisoners over the age of 21 serving a range of sentences including trial, remand, those awaiting sentence and convicted men serving long and short term sentences.
HMP Dovegate has the UK’s only privately run purpose-built therapeutic facility. The therapy offered helps offenders stop their pattern of offending.
Here at Serco, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Administrator to join the Therapeutic Community unit within HMP Dovegate. Reporting into the Clinical Lead, you will be first point of contact for the Community Staff Team, ensuring the delivery of the therapeutic process in a controlled and professional manner. As Central Administrator, you will be expected to support the Clinical Lead directly in achieving their goals laid down in their strategic objectives and Audit Action Plans.
You will work alongside the Community Clinical Leads supporting them in the delivery of therapy and have a working knowledge of the Therapeutic (Core Model) management manuals. Due to the complex nature of the Community, constant supervision by the Clinical Lead and their team of Community Staff will need to be organised by the Administrator on a daily basis efficiently and confidently.
What you will need to do the role:
This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is confident in their ability to work alone using their own initiative as well as maintaining good working relationships with colleagues in your team. Good communication skills are key - both written & oral as you will produce written work to a high standard, that will be used when liaising with key stakeholders.
Your day-to-day activities will include providing a safe environment for staff and residents, this includes the management of Safer Custody, Violence Reduction and Racial Equality. You will also manage all aspects of the Community Case Conferences, Therapy Reviews, and End of Therapy Boards, including recording of processes in line with Audit Requirements.
IT literacy is one of the most important aspects of this role so advanced levels in Word for Windows & Microsoft PowerPoint with at least an intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Excel will be required to enable you to complete your role competently. GCSE standard education is desirable in Maths & English. Refresher training will be made available to keep best practices and essential for continuing your professional development.
