Serco: HMP Kilmarnock
12 Months Fixed Term Contract, Full Time
£33,000 - £36,000 per annum + Excellent Corporate Benefits Package
We are recruiting for a driven and dedicated Electrician to join the Serco J&I FM in supporting our operation based at HMP Kilmarnock for a period of 12 months.
The role is to take on project work, with specific emphasis but not exclusively on Lighting.
You will need to be able to document works carried out and update all appropriate O&M Manuals. You will work in conjunction with the on-site FM team however you will be expected to work independently. You will not be required to carry out ongoing maintenance tasks.
It is important to note that working in such a secure environment can be challenging at times. The working week is Monday to Friday from 08.00 am to 16.30, however there will be an element of out of hours work and weekend work required to meet business needs.
What you’ll need to do the job
You will need C & G Electrical Certificate or other recognised electrical trade qualification and you must have served a recognised trade apprenticeship and qualified to BS7671 (Current Edition of the IEE Regulations).
Finally, you will have at least 5 years associated trade experience post apprenticeship and must be prepared to undertake training courses to expand on their technical abilities if required by the business.
