Supplier Management Operations Manager 
Hybrid – Attached to London, Hook or Solihull Office with UK Travel       
Full Time, Permanent   
£60,000 - £68,000 (dependent on experience)  

 

Serco spends approximately £1.6bn globally with third party suppliers every year. Procurement supports the business by understanding business requirements and providing innovative solutions from the supply market throughout the business lifecycle that reduce cost, improve service and quality and protect the business from risk. Procurement is responsible for managing all third-party supplier arrangements including sourcing and contracting and supplier and contract management to deliver competitive advantage to Serco.

 

Here at Serco, we are seeking an ambitious Supplier Management Operations Manager to provide experienced leadership to support the development, deployment and operation of Supplier Management (Supplier Performance Management and Supplier Relationship Management) within the UK & Europe (UK&E) Division.

 

This is a newly shaped role where you will have the autonomy to design, drive and lead within this space. This role will suit you well if you are looking to bring some creativity into your day-to-day activities.


As part of this you’ll:

 

  • Own and manage the supplier segmentation methodology and the annual refresh of the supply base segmentation
  • Own, refine and promote the Supplier Management toolkit to support Procurement and Business colleagues in applying Supplier Performance Management and Supplier Relationship Management practice with their suppliers
  • Provide coaching and support to colleagues with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) delivery (e.g. key workshops/meetings, delivery of training and issue resolution)
  • Share Supplier Management best practice and tools/templates with other Divisional Procurement teams
  • Work closely with the Enabling Services Risk & Sustainability Team to help develop supplier management policy and to manage deployment into the UK&E Division
  • Co-ordinate the annual refresh of the UK & E’s Business Critical Supplier listing, working closely with Procurement Business Partners and BU stakeholders
  • Manage communications internally within Serco UK&E Division and to the supply base on the objectives, approach, value and impact of Supplier Management

 

What you’ll need to do the role:

 

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a supplier management role
  • Strong business acumen, able to understand complex business needs and drivers and identify ways for Procurement to address
  • Consistent track record of delivery within large and complex Procurement organisations
  • A track record of delivery in procurement and supplier management, effecting change and continuous improvement through creation and implementation of innovative strategies and building of effective supplier relationships
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at multiple levels
  • A track record of developing and maintaining strong senior stakeholder relationships
  • The remit of the role is UK&E but the role may get involved in supporting and advising colleagues from ASPAC or ME as part of the global Procurement community
