Mechanical Craftsperson
Great Western Hospital- Wiltshire
Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Shifts – Monday to Friday- 0700 to 1530 hours and 1030 to 1900 hours
Weekend Rota – 1 in 4
Salary - £26,000 - £30,000 plus company benefits
Across The Great Western Hospital, we provide a variety of facilities management services including catering, cleaning, portering and maintenance. We are currently looking for a Mechanical Craftsperson to join our team, which will play a critical role in keeping the Hospital running and open. This role will provide safe and efficient maintenance of the mechanical services and equipment within Great Western Hospital.
Main Accountabilities:
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding and servicing to a wide range of Services, Plant and Equipment such as UV sterilisers / FCUs / AHUs / AC Plant within all areas of the hospital as directed by Supervisors or Managers
- Provide detailed findings and reports of findings and remedial works required or further investigation
- Analysis and diagnosis of faults in equipment
- Work in accordance with all relevant Serco Policies & Procedures, Workplace Regulations and Best Practice Guidelines.
- CP and AP duties, training provided
What you'll need to do the role
- Completion of a recognised appropriate Mechanical Apprenticeship or other relevant structured Training Program
- Proven experience of working in a similar environment
- Knowledge and understanding of Mechanical Building Services
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Availability to work rota and weekends (w/e enhancement paid and time off in lieu)
- The successful candidate will become part of an on-call rota from 19:00 - 07:00
Additional / Special Features of the role:
- Authorised Person Duties Paid at £1000 per role PA, up to 3 duties paid at maximum £2,500 PA additional to salary
- Standby allowance when on call £ TBA
- Be part of an on-call rota from 19:00 – 07:00
