Microsoft Security Expert

Between £55,000-£70,000 per annum
Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Microsoft Security Expert to build upon our recent security tools transformation by enhancing our Microsoft Security capabilities. Ultimately the purpose is to maximise the value we get from our investment in Microsoft Security.
This role will work with the operational security teams and operational support teams across Serco. This role is focussed on developing and maintaining our internal capability and is not customer facing.
As part of this you’ll:
• Help develop and mature the Microsoft Security capability across Serco
• Enhance existing Security controls and help develop then implement a roadmap for enhancements and improvements, which is aligned to both our Security Strategy and Microsoft’s Security development roadmap
• Optimise configurations, leveraging the Microsoft Security products to maintain and improve our Security posture, ensure best practice, and drive effectiveness and efficiency across the Cyber Security tower.
• Provide Technical support and expertise to other teams, including Security Operations and Operational Support teams
• Be the Technical Subject Matter Expert for Microsoft Security tools within Security and the wider organisation
• Work closely and collaboratively with Security teams and functions as required
• Be ‘Hands on’ when required to implement changes and improvements within the tools
• Adhere to Serco’s governance processes, including creation of Design documentation, Standards and Guidance
• Provide elements of support and expertise to other non-Microsoft tools where required.
What you’ll need to do the role:
Must have Microsoft Security expertise, with a current and technical understanding of all Microsoft security tools, including:
• Microsoft Sentinel, with a detailed knowledge of integrations and developing advanced queries
• Microsoft Defender (Endpoint, Office, Cloud and Identity)
• Microsoft Azure Services (Azure AD/Entra, Intune, Conditional Access, PIM, etc)
• Legacy Microsoft products (On-Prem AD, Group Policy)
Candidates will have a background in Information Technology and/or Cyber Security tools, with a minimum 3 years’ experience working with Microsoft Security products in either an implementation or advance technical support role.
It is also desirable for the candidate to have:
• An intermediate level Security qualification (such as Security+, CYSA+ or equivalent), or working towards these qualifications
• A Microsoft/Azure Security certification (such as AZ-500) or equivalent
