Here at Serco, we are looking for a Head of Communications to be responsible for the planning and delivery of internal and external communications for a significant large-scale mobilisation and transformation of a new and exciting contract win.
Serco will be delivering health assessments that help determine eligibility for benefits on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP): bringing together the right people, technology, and partners to create an innovative solution to make a positive impact.
You will be advising key internal stakeholders by understanding their challenges and opportunities and offer smart strategic thinking to help them deliver the programme of change, but most importantly supporting our employees through a significant period of change.
Your main responsibilities:
- Build the internal and external communications strategy to help drive change and transformation across the programme
- Implement a creative and engaging internal communications plan in collaboration with workstream leads / programme managers to create a connected story
- Ensure communication and change activity aligns with HR practices and plans, contributing ideas on how we can most effectively manage change and communicate with key internal audiences.
- Take complex information and create easy to understand messages that are engaging and relevant to the audience
- Track effectiveness of change communications interventions
- Collate and interpret feedback and user data to identify insights and make recommendations for future communications
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Proven relevant communications or content writing experience
- A change communications specialist, with demonstrable internal and external communications experience
- Proven experience of implementing internal communications to support leaders and employees through difficult change
- Proven experience of implementing a communication plan where changes are delivered through multiple workstreams and project leads
- Strong technical expertise and experience of working with various internal social media channels, including SharePoint intranets
- Experience working in a complex organisation, and with multiple stakeholders and can deal with people at various levels of the organisation
- Experience of central government change or large TUPE’s
- Excellent copywriting and design skills
