Enterprise Architect – ERP & Packages
Hybrid - Attached to Hook or Solihull with UK Travel
Full Time, Permanent
£85,000 - £95,000 (dependent on experience)
Here at Serco, we are seeking a talented Enterprise Architect to lead on all areas relating to ERP and Package based systems strategy and technology choice, assisting implementation and operational teams in managing their projects and ongoing services.
In this key role you will support the delivery of the architectural strategy and roadmap for ERP and Package applications. This will also involve assisting project and programme teams to deliver the roadmap and individual solutions that represent either high complexity, high risk or critical IT Workstreams. Strategy and roadmaps will be based upon industry trends and carefully studying and understanding business strategy and requirements, identifying gaps (if any) between business requirements and current IT capabilities, and ensuring solutions are being implemented in line with the overall strategy and architecture.
As part of this you’ll:
- Maintain the ERP and Package architectures of all systems used in the technology areas in sufficient detail to support ongoing design work
- Describe the structure of solutions to a business problem, which may include several applications and technologies
- Liaise with business representatives and the Divisional IT Enterprise Architect team to understand the needs of business unit
- Ensure compliance to strategy and solution architectural design in the implementation of projects
- Provide delivery execution guidance to the delivery team, supporting the design governance of the workstream breakdown
- Explain technical issues and IT solution strategies to Business Unit stakeholders and other IT professionals as required in support of solutions
- Develop and maintain a technology and service roadmap, working with stakeholders to ensure this is maintained, current and meets future capability needs
- Identify and mitigate existing business risk or risks associated with solution architecture
What you’ll need to do the role:
- A strong background in ERP systems (but not a detailed practitioner) and Package systems
- A thorough understanding of modern IT Infrastructure, applications and Cloud based technologies is very important
- Effective communication skills to convey complex technical details to clients in a straightforward manner
- Ability to identify technical issues and be able to design solutions to fix them
- A strong understanding of SAP, Oracle and related Enterprise Package systems (e.g. OpenText, CAFM, AM/FM platforms) would be beneficial
