We have a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Head of Tax within our Group function to support the Head of Tax in managing the global Tax position of the Group in this interesting and varied Tax leadership position. In this role you will be able to work on a variety of Tax challenges and business initiatives whilst also focusing on continuous improvement and how we can improve the efficiency and relationships with our partners & BPO provider as well as developing and improving our internal processes and policies.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Managing UK corporate tax compliance including tax payments on account and returns for the UK group of 10 companies
- Responsible for the planning and management of group relief and consortium relief for the UK group
- Manage and review tax forecasting models for the global group (ETR and cash tax)
- Providing support relating to tax reporting to be included within consolidated accounts including working with overseas tax colleagues
- Ensure appropriate tax due diligence, structuring and implementation support and advice is provided for global acquisitions, disposals and group re-organisations
- Monitor international legislative developments and consider and communicate the implications of them for the organisation
- Liaise with global finance teams and business managers on the tax implications, risks and opportunities associated with operational decisions
What you’ll need to do the job
- You will be a qualified accountant (ICAEW and ideally CTA)
- Ideally you will have been trained in practice within the Big 4 or a similar organisation
- Deep experience of UK corporate tax compliance and tax reporting
- Strong leadership skills & able to coach and motivate a high performing team of tax and finance experts
- Personally credible and demonstrates good judgement and integrity
- Strong report writing and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills gained within a large or medium sixed business
- Analytical and solution focused
