HMP Kilmarnock is situated approximately three miles south-east of Hurlford in East Ayrshire and housing a range of male prisoner types. We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Director to join our team.
We have two vacancies for Prisoner Shop Assistants to join the team on a part- time basis.
As a prisoner shop assistant, the post holder will be expected to provide a comprehensive, safe, secure and efficient goods and materials purchasing service to prisoners.

Additionally, the prisoner shop assistant will be responsible for carrying out any other work reasonably acceptable within the capabilities of the post holder.
What you need to do the job:
We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
It is important that the successful post holder has good Computing skills, ideally with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel.
Furthermore, it would be Ideal for the post holder to have previous experience of working within a shop environment. Additionally, understanding purchasing systems would be advantageous but not essential.
They must understand security and knowledge of a custodial environment would be highly beneficial.
Finally, having some knowledge and experience of dealing with suppliers and representatives is also important.
