Prisoner Escort Custody Services (PECS), Serco operates across 105 courts and 16 vehicle bases throughout London, East & West England. On average we transport over 21,000 custodies per month and at the core of our service is our Operational Control Centre Team (OCC) working to ensure custodies are transported on time, on schedule and in a safe & secure way.
We are looking for a Stock Controller to join our team.
As part of this role the post holder will Effectively manage, control, and deliver the stock requirement of the Prisoner Escorting and Custodial Services (PECS) contract from stores (currently located at New Southgate vehicle depot). This role will also incorporate the collection and archiving of sensitive data, provide environmental waste [recycling] collection services and facilitate the distribution or transfer of company assets based on the requirement and needs of the contract.
What you’ll do day to day:
You will conduct monthly stocktakes as directed by the Stock Control Manager. You will engage and build business relationships with the customer, stakeholders, and suppliers. You will carry out stock / asset administrative duties [collation of auditable data for reporting purposes]. Additionally, you will facilitate and manage the delivery of ad-hoc items / equipment determined by contract requirements. You will maintain best practice stock management techniques.

To be considered for this role you must possess a B1 category drivers’ licence and be willing to travel to various locations daily. Having previous stock management experience is desirable. Hours of work will be Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 16:00 hrs but occasional weekend work and additional hours during the week may be required if operational demands dictate. Some Bank holiday working may be required to ensure business continuity. Additionally, you must have experience working safely with warehouse equipment and a vehicle tail lift.
