IT PMO Analyst

We have an exciting new role for an IT PMO Analyst to join our team in Glasgow on a fixed term basis for an initial 12 months. In June 2023 Scottish Ministers took the decision to end the franchise agreement they had with Serco and bring the Caledonian Sleeper service under the management of Scottish Rail Holdings. Under the Franchise model all shared services (technology and people) were provided by Serco and were deeply integrated into the Serco business. There is now a burning platform to exit these services as a Transitional Services Agreement is in place for 14 months.
An IT Programme has been established to deliver the required services to allow CSL to operate independently. The PMO Analyst role will sit within this team and support the governance and delivery framework for the programme.
Main Accountabilities:
- Development and ownership of programme governance collateral including document templates, policies and procedures
- Prepare Steer Co packs including extracting MI and progress updates into key project updates for Board members
- Responsible for governance and assurance at Programme level ensuring that budget, risks, issues, dependencies meet quality standards
- Drive effective project governance to stay in line with scope, budget and timelines
- Support the Change Control management process ensuring requests are correctly documented and approved through appropriate channels
- Understand budgeting and work with Programme Manager and Project Managers to ensure these are on track
- Liaise with senior level stakeholders and gain final signoffs
- Track and have oversight of third party milestones, acceptance criteria and payments.
- Work with Procurement to establish Purchase Orders for Vendors and ensure appropriate tracking is in place liaising with Finance to complete process
- Adaptable and able to work effectively across different teams and functions
- Provides production support, troubleshooting, research and analysis to support the project team as required
What you’ll need to do the role:
Essential
- Prior experience of project delivery lifecycle having performed PMO Analyst or Project Management roles in large sized organisations
- MS Project
- Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint etc
- Programme Governance – Decision logs, Risk and Issue Management, reporting etc
- Programme Governance - development of programme policies and procedures
- Exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills with proven ability to coordinate deliverables and priorities across multiple projects
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including Senior Level stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
Preferred
- Experience within IT programme/project deliveries
