What you’ll do
Reporting to the Senior Network Operations Manager, you will act as the primary senior point of contact for our retail partners within a defined region / investor group. Responsible for driving performance through our network to maximise sales and profitability, including new and used cars, parts and accessories. You will be responsible for coordinating, collaborating, and gaining input as and when required from specialist areas, including Business Management, Inside Sales, Order Management, Aftersales, VCFS, Competence Development and B2B Teams, ensuring all Retailers under your jurisdiction achieve their maximum potential. You will drive the consumer experience into the heart of all network operations as well as having P&L ownership and accountability for all of your Retailers. 
This highly impactful role is to ensure we deliver outstanding representation, consumer experience and financial through our physical retail network within an omnichannel world. Key responsibilities include:
•    Leading the execution of the retailer network strategy and changes within your region.
•    Lead, motivate and inspire the retailers to deliver class leading business results.
•    Set and deliver retailer targets and create network engagement with Volvo Car UK commercial objectives.
•    Drive and deliver a performance management culture that continuously improves the retail network.
•    Balance the commercial requirements of both new and used cars sales and aftersales business in equal measure. 
•    Recognise and forecast market trends, and the required measure to take advantage of/or combat the trend
•    Take sole responsibility for delivering VCUKs commercial objectives with the Retailers under your jurisdiction 
•    Take the lead on setting Retailer trading terms/remuneration in conjunction with other specialist areas
•    Deliver a performance management culture that continuously improves the retailers within a region
•    Effectively lead strategy, execution, and optimisation of your business area to ensure Sales & After Sales delivers against the annual plan and budget. 
•    Lead the retailer reviews in your region as well as keeping the senior management team updated on key achievements and remedial action required.

 

What you‘ll bring
You will be experienced in communicating and negotiating at the most senior levels with a proactive approach and confident with liaising at senior management level. You will possess a track record of delivering against targets, monthly and quarterly, and be able to understand the KPIs that drive sales (cars & parts) both in the sales and aftersales arenas. Comfortable using initiative to take decisions within governance framework you will be experienced in sales and aftersales, in an automotive environment, ideally with Retailer experience at senior level. You will need to thrive under pressure and display a resilient and positive outlook in what can be a highly pressurised environment.
A supportive team player capable of working autonomously and remotely you will have excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills and a proven track record of developing and managing relationships with senior stakeholders. You will need a detailed understanding of both sales and aftersales strategy, driving the value chain to maximise retention and revenue. It is essential that you can speak from a position of knowledge about Retailer operations, process optimisation, and financial performance and have experience of, or the ability to own and balance the profitability of the retail network alongside the P&L contribution to Volvo Car UK from your region.
It is essential that you are comfortable with pushing boundaries with a ‘can do anything’ attitude, possess stretch thinking ability i.e. from good to great and challenge the status quo. You must be comfortable with ambiguity and have situational adaptability in an environment with shifting demands. Most of all, you must share our values and can see everyone's potential. Location: This is a field based role -primarly located in the South of England.
