Job Summary

GKN’s Global Technology Centre (GTC) in Filton, Bristol is a £32m state of the art technology research and manufacturing process development facility which is a hub for world-class innovative technology for the next generation of fuel-efficient aircraft. It includes a collaborative space for research and development with universities, the UK’s CATAPULT network and GKN Aerospace’s UK supply chain, to help strengthen aerospace technology and support the UK’s Industrial strategy.

 

We are currently seeking a dynamic and proactive Executive Assistant to join our team, providing essential support to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and serving as the primary point of contact for members of the Executive Committee at our esteemed UK Global Technology Centre. In this pivotal role, you will extend support to senior first-line members of the CTO organisation, demonstrating exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail. Collaboration lies at the heart of our ethos and you will work closely with GTC staff to cultivate a professional, engaging, and inclusive environment for our team and visitors alike.

 

Flexibility is key to success in this role, as occasional out-of-hours work may be required, along with the ability to remain accessible based on shifting business priorities.

How You'll Contribute

  • Diary management, ensuring proactive planning and preparation for all appointments
  • Ensure the maximisation of the CTO & VP Technology’s schedule, whilst protecting personal planning and preparation time
  • Arrange and support meetings, liaising with other EAs to minimise diary disruption
  • Work collaboratively with the other GTC EAs to be a robust and effective support team within the GTC
  • Provide cover for other EAs during periods of absence
  • Work with GTC visitor booking process and subsequent meet and greet, hosting visitors within GTC guidelines
  • Promote and support positive employee welfare within the working environment
  • Participate in global EA network and work collaboratively with EAs at GKN’s global sites in setting up and coordinating meetings
  • Coordinate events, to include securing appropriate venues, accommodation, catering, travel and facilitation of such events on the day, as appropriate.   
  • Support CTO and wider CTO team with annual planning and communication activities 
  • Coordinate complex travel for CTO and VP Technology, using agreed IT systems, guidelines and working within company travel policy
  • Manage monthly expenses using agreed IT systems and submitting in a timely manner
  • Coordinate arrangements for new starters/leavers – working with HR, IT, Finance, Security and GTC Operations team for inductions and requisition of all necessary equipment, to ensure smooth onboarding
  • Maintain an effective liaison network with internal & external key stakeholders/organisations as required (i.e Academia/Government bodies/Customers)
  • Maintain records of overseas GKN aerospace visiting personnel to the UK visiting GKN engineering or technology locations for HR regulatory compliance

  • Experience working for a large global organisation 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Aerospace industry or similar Technology environment
  • Interest in environmental sustainability
