Scrum Master at Novo Nordisk
London, United Kingdom

Job Descrption

The Position

As a Scrum Master, you are invited onboard into our agile journey, as part of Digital, Data & IT, Research & Early Development (DD&IT R&ED), where you will be the role model for agile practice and behaviour.

We expect you to create a culture of trust and psychological safety, and to inspire and foster leadership in others. Furthermore, you will help remove impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics with continuous flow and focus on the outcome instead of output. You will also setup and track the progress of new projects, define KPIs, and implement their measurement.

You will be mainly responsible for:

  • Facilitating agile ceremonies for the agile team, continuously improving the agile ways of working, e.g., leading and influencing the transformation
  • Onboarding and coaching individual team members in the agile roles and ways of working.
  • Inspiring the team and ensuring constructive and positive team dynamics aligned with agile principles.
  • Helping the team track their progress and enable transparency of tasks (Azure DevOps) and creating and maintaining project progress dashboards,
  • Identifying and reporting progress on project milestones and deliverables to stakeholders
  • Evaluating project outcomes and report on the success and improvement of a project.

For this position we offer a hybrid working model with 2 days from home 2-3 fixed days in our new central London Office, where you will be working closely with our digital specialists, or in Oxford, where you could collaborate directly with our scientists.

Qualifications

We’re searching for a positive personality with expertise within agile ways of working. You will have experience with coaching/engaging high-performing agile teams and a good comprehension of IT. Articulating complex ideas and information in a clear and concise manner, while also demonstrating strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with colleagues and stakeholders are qualities that ensure success in this role.

Moreover, our ideal candidate:

  • relevant experience with IT projects including project management or Scrum Master experience.
  • Holds a degree at minimum BA level of science in IT or another relevant field.
  • Has a structured way of working and a general overview which allows to handle several tasks simultaneously while keeping an ongoing focus on results.
  • Is a great communicator with excellent verbal presentation skills and the ability to create visually appealing and impactful presentations that convey insights and drive action.

On a personal note, you are motivated by challenging assignments and to become an essential part of a journey of digitalization and automation.

About the Department

The position is connected to our DDIT-R&ED UK department located in the heart of London and the University of Oxford medical campus. The department currently consists of 12 IT and Data specialists and is building up additional capabilities and capacity. We are strongly linked with the Novo Nordisk Research Centre Oxford (NNRCO), an innovative target discovery unit with a focus on identifying novel, game-changing therapies for patients. The site is a fusion of the best of academia, biotech, software engineering, and big pharma to realize cutting-edge biology. NNRCO operates at the boundaries of frontier science with a mandate to find dynamic, agile, and distinctive new ways of working to diversify the company’s pipeline with disruptive medicines. Additionally, we support our In-Silico and In-Vitro needs and provide IT infrastructure in close collaboration with the global DD&IT organisation and product teams. We strive to efficiently drive digital, data & IT innovation and transformation by leveraging agile methodologies. We enjoy empowerment and autonomy and believe that it is the people’s differences, knowledge, and experience that create the joint strengths of the team.
