The Quality Facilitator will have responsibility for supporting the Company’s aims and objectives for high quality standards and continuous improvement across site. The role will be part of a team of on shift QA Facilitators, working with the QA Engineers and reporting to the Production Quality Manager. This role will be key to working closely with a variety of site functions including supply chain, Manufacturing, Engineering and EOS.
Duties and Responsibilities
Carrying out both routine and ad-hoc surveillance and compliance checking of processes and products across site, with the focus on known problem areas based on data analysis
Act as a first response in emerging and reported production quality issues and incidents
Assist in continuous improvement and problem-solving activities and initiatives
Supporting production with the management of special product sampling
Auditing processes in accordance with assigned internal audit schedules
Identifying potential risks to quality of products being shipped to customers and request immediate corrective action
Ensuring quality control plans are up to date and followed
Assisting in production problem solving and ensure solutions are effective
Duties and Responsibilities
Carrying out routine checks to ensure manufacturing are working to latest documented procedures
Periodically performing process traceability to ensure its effectiveness
Assisting in the analysis, and monitoring of process scrap, supporting the identification of root causes or seeking escalation
Supporting manufacturing training process when requested
Undertaking work on assigned projects under supervision of quality engineers
Ensuring Production have awareness of quality issues raised by internal/external customers
Supporting product teardowns and testing when required
Skills
Good computer literacy skills (sound knowledge of Microsoft Office; word, excel, outlook, etc.)
Basic Numerical Skills with an ability to compile data
A good ability to communicate and report back via different mediums i.e. meetings, emails, reports and presentations
An adaptable and flexible individual who can respond to ever changing requirements and directives
An ability to priorities tasks and ever-emerging quality issues
An inquisitive personality and approach to these tasks and issues
A curiosity to learn and develop their skills within quality
A self-motivated individual, who can work autonomously, under own initiative or collaboratively as a team player
An assertive individual who can communicate to a range of stakeholders across site
Desirable/Advantageous Skills
Quality relevant experience in related industry
Audit experience to an ISO Standard
Experience in volume manufacturing, assembly and/or testing environment.
Experience with the Newport site and or battery manufacturing practices and processes
Strong Numerical Skills with an ability to compile data & visualise data
An appreciation of structured problem solving, troubleshooting and fault-finding
An appreciation for generating containment, corrective and/or preventative countermeasures to emerging quality issues and incidents
Ability to coach and influence team members in quality related best practice(s).
Experience in product testing, Teardown, Sign-off or chemical analysis
