What is the opportunity?
To assist the Management Accounting team to maintain and further develop the Management Accounting function at Mizuho. Provide expertise and ownership of the financial/management information systems within the function. Assist with the EMEA annual forecast and planning process. Provide monthly analysis to Mizuho departments.
What will you be doing?
• Assist with the production and the analysis of the monthly Management Committee report & CIB report.
• Involvement in the annual planning process for the EMEA region and ensure all Head Office deadlines are met
• Ensure data integrity in the management information systems TM1 and Anaplan
• Maintenance and further development of the TM1 management information system
• Act as a business partner to the assigned front offices in terms of understanding their expense results and identifying opportunities for savings using run rate analysis and regular performance meetings.
• To understand and manage the monthly expense forecasting process and communicate any risks to the annual plan.
• Assist with the calculation and communication of recharges for both inter-branch and inter-departmental.
• Have a thorough understanding of a multi-departmental entity and cost allocation model.
• Analyse expense trends and provide comments on comparison against budget, forecast and prior periods.
• Provide support and cover for the rest of the Management Accounting team.
• Produce reports accurately and to deadline.
• Effective communication and team work.
What do you need to succeed?
Essential:
• Qualified (i.e. CIMA, ACCA).
• Degree educated or equivalent.
• Good overall understanding of large dataset interrogation and financial/management information systems.
• Ability to deal with people at all levels to build strong relationships across the bank, EMEA and Head Office.
• Proactive attitude and use own initiative.
• Strong data manipulation, analysis and presentation skills.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (including VBA programming).
• Good understanding of accounting concepts.
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting.
• Keen interest in financial services products.
• Driven to improve processes with a continuous improvement approach.
Desirable:
• Experience of using Anaplan, Cognos TM1 and Sun Accounts.
