The role
As a Parts Advisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Here at Babcock you’ll have the opportunity to be a part of keeping London’s Fire vehicles and equipment on the run. From general servicing to code 1s, no day is the same.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be identifying parts for all London Fire Brigade Assets requiring repair by Babcock Technicians and Others. You will also support the goods-in function and warehousing teams.

 

  • Provide excellent Customer Service to all internal customers
  • Receive and action orders for parts ensuring procedures and paperwork are followed according to current system
  • Stock items so that they are maintained at the correct level and that re-ordering is undertaken in a timely manner using the relevant computerised systems
  • Maintain a clear and up to date ordering system ensuring that all outstanding orders are followed up and closed in a timely manner
  • Authorise the purchase of parts on orders not exceeding £500 and to also get authority for purchase orders of £500 and above

 

This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time

 

This role is full time, 41.5 hours per week and is based at Ruislip.

 

Essential experience of the Parts Advisor: 

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and deliver in a complex environment.
  • Able to build rapport and maintain relationships.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and rectify mistakes.
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment. 
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications

 

Qualifications for the Parts Advisor:

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
