The role
As a Painter - Shiplift, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for the maintenance and preventative work to ensure safety and upkeep of site and equipment.
Day-to-day, you’ll paint internal and external building and equipment including priming, stripping masking, working with hazardous materials.
- Completion of planned preventative maintenance activities and a wide range of defect rectification works and projects.
- Ensure that work is carried out in line with current processes and make suggestions on improving systems and processes to increase productivity.
- Work within all H&S legislation, Safe Systems of Work and control of work processes within Clyde policies.
- Preparation and surface treatment of metal surfaces using different types of rust inhibitors for different applications and environments
- Measuring surface areas, working out quantities of paints and materials needed.
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Faslane.
Essential experience of the Painter - Shiplift
- Preparation and surface treatment of metal surfaces using different types of rust inhibitors for different applications and environments.
- Preparation of buildings, systems and equipment including surface rectification, paint stripping, priming and masking
- Measuring surface areas, working out quantities of paints and materials needed.
- Housekeeping including cleaning of tools and removal of surplus materials.
- Relevant acceptance standards
Qualifications for the Painter - Shiplift
- Recognised Painting Apprenticeship or equivalent

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
