The role
As a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Throughout the submarine program the Commissioning Group demonstrate that the complex systems meet the design intent and are safe to operate. Our main aim is to deliver a safe submarine to the highest possible standards, well beyond what is normal in most industries.
Day-to-day, you’ll join a multi-disciplined commissioning team which forms part of the wider Commissioning Group. The main aim of the group is to undertake complex inspections, tests and trials on the Royal Navy’s submarines during deep maintenance periods.
This position involves working in confined spaces. Candidates must be able to work comfortably and perform tasks in restricted spaces.
This role is full time 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements, based at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
