The role
As a Safety Assessment Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. At Devonport Dockyard, Babcock supports the Royal Navy submarine fleet, with a number of operational nuclear and radiological facilities for the upkeep and maintenance of submarines. Over the next 5 to 10 years, Babcock are significantly upgrading the Devonport site and as such you will have the opportunity to support the design and build of new, submarine maintenance facilities.
Day to day, you’ll report to the Head of Safety Engineering within the Safety Engineering team. The role is part of the Devonport engineering function and is a key role within safety engineering, having responsibility for the development of comprehensive, coherent and optimised safety strategies and assessments for applications across our site. In addition, you must provide relevant specialist technical knowledge, support and advice to the Plant Managers, Design Authority, and operations and maintenance teams.

Please note that this position is subject to enhanced national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
