The role
As a Senior Naval Architect, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary where you’ll join a team who are responsible for ensuring the waterfront facilities and assets can meet the operational demands of a modern Navy.
Day to day, you’ll be ensuring assets are fit for use, together with assessing if the facilities can meet current demands.
- Providing technical support to the management of floating assets and associated facilities throughout the product lifecycle.
- Providing specifications to support new acquisitions and refits, undertaking inspections and overseeing maintenance, repair and modifications.
- Maintaining records and ensuring assets are certified for use and supporting the development of technical solutions for future.
- Onsite inspections and investigation to ensure tasks and costs are appropriately recorded in accordance with corporate procedures.
This role is full time - 36 hours and will be based at on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Senior Naval Architect:
- Preferable experience of delivering design packages
Qualifications for the Senior Naval Architect:
- A degree qualified in Naval Architect or marine related engineering
- A chartered Engineer or capable of achieving Chartered status within 12 months
Please note that this position is subject to enhanced national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
