The role
As a Shift Driver, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Driving patients and families often in emergency and supporting the other team members
Day to day, you’ll transport RAF personnel, including coach driving, as well as:
- Seasonal Snow and ice clearance in large platforms, to allow critical flying to remain active.
- Check vehicles daily/weekly in line with vehicle specifications and requirements. Refuelling, washing, vacuuming, checking of vehicle fluids and tyre condition of all vehicles as required.
- Ensure that all transport services driver and vehicle documentation is completed relevant publications.
- Report all vehicle defects to Control Staff legislation and service publications. And Completion and maintenance of Driver Analogue Tachograph Discs and Driver Digital Cards.
This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Northolt.
Essential experience of the Shift Driver:
- You must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role. This will include background checks.
Qualifications for the Shift Driver:
- Hold full clean driving license with categories B, C, and D.
- You must pass a Colour Perception test for aerodrome access and should be colour perception (CP) standard of Red Green CP2 (safe) or CP3 (defective/safe).
- Driver Vehicle Standard Authority (DVSA) Category D Licence with no more than three current Penalty Points.
- Driver qualification card CPC, LGV and PSV.
- ADR class 1 and 3 desirables.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve the minimum of a BPSS security clearance for this role.
