The role
As a Senior Integration Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to champion the systems engineering approach by managing the design integration between assets, elements, systems, and products. You will also be responsible for managing technical interfaces and challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
Day to day, you’ll provide high level engagement with various stakeholders and design houses. Work to achieve overarching visibility of the project as a whole and recognise any pain points, with a problem solving mentality to foresee any issues and provide interface management. Understand different parties systems and process and make sure they align.
Work with various internal and external stakeholders, to be able to ensure designs are to brief and fit for purpose
Be able to take a holistic view of projects and recognise any bottlenecks or potential problems before they happen
Able to understand and communicate complex high level engineering designs
Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
Understand engineering designs or be able to seek advice when necessary
This role is full time, 36 hours based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with hybrid working from home arrangements.
Essential experience of the Senior Integration Engineer:
Operate throughout the design life cycle and Implement design coordination on multi-disciplinary projects
Ensure design risk is effectively managed and communicated
Display strong interpersonal and communication skills
Be able to apply a Systems Engineering approach or have capability to learn – Desirable
Deliver engineering management best practice, including configuration control - Desirable
Knowledge and experience of submarine maintenance and/or design in the nuclear industry - Desirable
Qualifications for the Senior Integration Engineer:
Degree in an appropriate discipline, e.g., civil, structural, electrical, mechanical engineering or architecture, or equivalent work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles and practices
Recognised by an industry/professional body, e.g., Chartered Engineer registered with Engineering Council, or working towards this status - Desirable
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
