The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll report to the Senior Project Manager and be responsible for the design contract for the Weapon Handling and Launch System for the new Dreadnought Class of Submarines, which will involve key customer and supplier stakeholder management.
Day to day, you’ll:
- Manage key aspects of a project i.e. safety, scope, cost, schedule, finance, risk, quality, and resources to achieve the project’s agreed objectives
- Form and manage effective relationships with project stakeholders both internal and externally
- Be responsible for managing third party suppliers to achieve the desired project outcomes
- Adhere to governance arrangements for the delivery of the project, including gate review and assurance requirements
This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week and will be based onsite at Ashton House with hybrid working from home arrangements.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Project Manager:
- Good financial awareness and experience supporting the generation and presentation of forecasts and budgets
- Knowledge of project controls tools and how these tools operate to provide key information for decision making
- Excellent interpersonal skills – being able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and with external bodies
- Experience of the full project lifecycle. From bidding to contract award and delivery to project completion and close out would be advantageous
