The role
As a Production Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll issue materials to a fast pace production line utilising SAP to ensure the delivery to schedule.
Day to day, you’ll ensure production line is supplied with correct materials and information, liaise with production team and other departments, deal with material defects, and replacements along with running reports using SAP, Power BI and other computer systems.
- Advising parts creation team on creation and maintenance of valid part numbers in the Item / Price catalogue system
- Advising the Senior Production Engineer and Production Line Manager of difficulties with work in hand, giving proposals for reducing or eliminating the impact and any adverse effects
- Monitoring and reporting progress against schedules to leadership team to ensure delivery to plan
- Raising spec queries to any ambiguous and contentious points to clarify the requirement
This role is full time and will be based at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Production Engineer
- Project and production engineer experience
- Experience in a production environment and using an enterprise resource planning system desirably SAP
- Proficient in using computer systems with the enthusiasm to learn how to use new systems.
- An ability to cultivate and manage effective working relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and prioritisation skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders
Qualifications for the Production Engineer

The successful candidate must be able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
