The role
As a Finance Systems Analyst – Control & Compliance, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Sitting within Finance Business Services (FBS), the Finance Systems team own and maintain a suite of finance systems and are responsible for delivering innovation to provide improved functionality, data integrity and security, owning financial system processes and ensuring robust and proportionate controls.
The Finance Systems Analyst – Control & Compliance is responsible for driving and acts as a first line of defence assurance of financial controls for all finance systems, ensuring continuous improvement of the control and governance framework.
Day to day, you’ll:
- Be accountable for identifying, assessing and managing financial controls and segregation of duties (SoD) structure for all finance systems
- Be accountable for driving solutions with IT and ensure appropriate closure of action plans developed in response to any ineffective controls/ control gaps
- Work closely with business process owners and IT to ensure adequate controls are in place, tested and monitored consistently across all finance systems
- Develop and maintain financial control documentation and SoD logs
- Proactively evaluate systems risks and engage process owners and IT to ensure root causes are identified and addressed
- Build & maintain effective working relationship with key stakeholders driving a culture of risk ownership and continuous improvement
- Be responsible for external and internal audits
This role offers hybrid working and can be worked remotely, with visits to Lakeside, Portsmouth, once or twice per week.
Essential experience of the Finance Systems Analyst – Control & Compliance:
- Intermediate knowledge of system controls identification and evaluation
- Experience in performing system and risk controls testing
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional documentation skills, managing action plans, workshops and projects
- Ability to influence others where there is not a direct line management relationship
- Experience of Security Weaver or similar access governance and application security tools (desirable)
- Qualifications in project/ change management or risk and information systems control (desirable)
- Experience of financial risk and control/ operational risk processes (desirable)
