The role
As a Principal Physicist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will provide key technical leadership and delivery of complex physics services and projects.
Day to day, you’ll provide specialist radiometric advice and consultancy services during the design, operation and decommissioning of nuclear facilities under Site License Conditions and the Environmental Permit.
- Direct, lead and supervise the work of technical specialists as required.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relations with customers, colleagues and other Cavendish Nuclear departments.
- Maintain knowledge of Industry best practice, promote a culture of best practice across Science and Hazard management.
- Ensure application of highest standards for health and safety in immediate area of responsibility and ensure all team members across engineering co-operate with respect to company standards about matters on health, safety and environment, ethics and behaviours.
This is a full-time role with 37 hours per week based in Seascale, Cumbria and hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Principal Physicist:
- Prior experience on Radiometric Physics in an industrial setting.
- Technical based leadership experience.
- Experience in mentoring & training.
- Nuclear experience.
Qualifications for the Principal Physicist:
- BAHon Science or Engineering.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
