The role
As a Senior Certification Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Type 31 Project will deliver 5 general purpose, global, adaptable and exportable frigates to the Royal Navy designed to undertake a range of operational tasks from maritime security, humanitarian aid and disaster relief and defence engagement to operation in a high threat environment. The Project is the pathfinder and cornerstone of the National Shipbuilding Strategy and will be delivered in an innovative manner at pace with all 5 ships to be in-service by Dec 2028.
Day to day, you’ll be responsible for the management of the ship’s Certification artefacts, whilst working closely with Engineering, Supply Chain and Project Management to ensure that the Systems and Ship meet their certification requirements.
This role is full time at 37 hours per week worked Monday to Friday. The role is adaptable and can be based at various sites, including Rosyth, Fife or Devonport, Plymouth or Ashton House, Bristol sites. Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met.
