The role
As a Workshop Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will play a vital role in the security of the nation by supporting the equipment used by the British Army.
Day to day, you’ll provide the First Line Management (FLM) capability for our operational organisation, the Supervisors priorities are to manage their section’s safety, people, quality, and output in line with the plan and targets. Further responsibilities will include:
- Promoting safety as the number one priority for everyone through visible safety leadership, safety behaviours and applying a just safety culture
- Engaging teams in safety through safety initiatives including (but not limited to) safety tours, toolbox talks, safety stand downs, safety performance statistics and time of for safety (TOFS) events, Risk Assessment or Safe System of Work creation and reviews.
- Managing and leading sections compliance around target quality, engineering hygiene and application/sustainment of 5S
- Managing people in line with people related policies (e.g., starter, leaver, attendance, absence, flexi management, recognition, expenses, allowance claims, code of conduct, behavioural issues)
- Managing demands for tooling, consumables, PPE ensuring teams have what they need while working within budgets and targets.
- Effectively communicating company and or local information to team members ensuring messages are flowed down and received by front line team members.
This is a full-time role, A 9-day fortnight working pattern every second Friday off and based at our Donnington site.
Essential experience of the Workshop Supervisor:
- Understanding of Lean principles
- Advanced PC user (MS Office, SharePoint, ERP system)
- Experience of working with data and reporting tools
- Supervisor experience
Qualifications for the Workshop Supervisor:
- Educated to Level 2 in National Qualification Framework (NQF) as a minimum (Intermediate apprenticeship, Level 2 NVQ, GCSE – Grade A* - C, O Level A – C, CSE Grade1) or equivalent workplace experience.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
