The role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer Placement - Aerospace you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. At our Gloucestershire Airport site, you’ll get the opportunity to be involved a variety of mechanical design projects that are relevant to your degree subject so you can start putting theory into practice.
Day to day you’ll help with the provision of support to the production and installation engineers in matters relating to mechanical/structural design as well as:
- The creation of part, assembly and installation drawings using Solid Works in compliance with the
- Design Office Handbook (DOH) and relevant Certification Basis e.g., CS-27.
- The provision of support to the avionics/electrical design engineers in matters relating to mechanical/structural design.
- Aircraft surveys to define design solutions.
Essential experience of the Mechanical Design Engineer Placement - Aerospace
- Basic knowledge of Aerospace structures.
- Awareness of Aerospace Design and Certification regulations.
- Experience of a 3D CAD system (training will be provided).
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc).
This role is full time and based onsite at our Staverton site.
Qualifications for the Mechanical Design Engineer Placement - Aerospace
- HNC / HND / Degree in a relevant engineering subject or Degree Student requiring an industry
The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS/SC security clearance for this role.
