The role
As a Senior Capacity Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will have a critical role in supporting the contract to manage and operate Skynet, the UK Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) military satellite communications system. The six-year Skynet Service Delivery Wrap (SDW) contract will encompass the operation of the UK’s constellation of military satellites and ground stations, including the integration of terminals into the MOD network, ensuring they are integrated and supported.
Day to day, you’ll be responsible for frequency, bandwidth, link budget and resource planning on a constellation of X band satellites and their associated anchoring ground stations and customer fixed and mobile terminal equipment.
Including but not limited to:
- Spacecraft Payload Configuration to support customer requirements.
- MAGIC Ops
- D1 Operational Support
- UHF Integrated Waveform (IW)
- Link budget Analysis for:
- Customer Support
- Assist Operations and plans with Payload planning issues.
- Give UK MoD advice on Capacity management and payload configurations.
- Plan and Support NATO on their allocated Capacity
This role is full-time, permanent, 37-hours per week, with a hybrid working arrangement of one to two days per week on site at either our Ashton House facility in Bristol or MOD Corsham near Chippenham.
Essential experience of the Senior Capacity Planner:
- Previous experience of capacity planning on Skynet systems
