The role
As a Nuclear Management Human Performance Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing team supporting the business in the ongoing practice of operational excellence and human performance within the workplace. This is a good opportunity for someone to be able to come in and lead, influence and drive sustainable excellence across nuclear operations on the Devonport site. 

 

Day to day, as the Nuclear Management Human Performance Specialist you’ll be working within the Nuclear Performance Management Team. You’ll provide strong management of the operational governance, to ensure industry ‘best practice’ and a consistent approach to work practices across the nuclear site, and form part of the wider Nuclear Operations Governance Group. 

 

  • Providing a consistent approach to work practices across the nuclear site including performance improvement.
  • Working with various stakeholders within the organisation, to act as the interface of the team whilst interacting and influencing others.
  • Managing change and improvements in a busy organisation.
  • Working in the Nuclear Performance Team within the Nuclear Operations Governance Group to ensure industry ‘best practice’.

 

This role is full time, 36 hours based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with hybrid working from home arrangements.

 

Essential experience of the Nuclear Management Human Performance Specialist:

  • Working knowledge of nuclear industry standards such as World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) Performance Objectives and Criteria (PO&C) and other peer review bodies.
  • Experience in management of the safety governance and associated Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs).
  • Experience In establishing and implementing human performance programs within a large organisation. – oil/gas, power generation or another high hazardous industry. 
  • Experience in the provision of support (and lead where appropriate) with event investigation, reporting & INES review.
  • Expert knowledge of industry best performance improvement standards.
  • Experience of industry performance improvement processes (CAP, HU, SA, OE, NSC, Observations).

 

Qualifications for the Nuclear Management Human Performance Specialist:

  • Under-graduate degree in appropriate related discipline. (BSc, BEng or equivalent).

 

Please note that this position is subject to enhanced national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
