The role
As a Senior Project Engineer Telecoms, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Day to day, you’ll act as the main engineering point of contact ensuring all engineering activities in connection with the implementation of project work are co-ordinated and technically compliant to Client and Company Standards and will act as the key discipline engineering contact and liaison with team members, clients, and sub-contractors to resolve any technical issues.
• Develop the integrated project programme for your discipline and monitor progress against this program and take necessary action when required to maintain the key dates.
• Ensure the application and implementation of all established standards and specifications for company, Network Rail/Northern Ireland Railway and statutory (DOT), including CDM principles.
• Ensure that changes to scope and specifications are managed, issues are raised and that risk registers are robustly reviewed.
• Preparation of Work Package Plans, Task Briefings and Risk Assessments and undertaking site surveys, along with manpower forecasting.
• Liaise with Principal Project Engineer (Telecoms) and Design Manager (Telecoms) to establish and introduce best practice throughout the business.
• Prepare and deliver briefings to staff on technical, procedural and Handbook publications, including participation in relevant training.
• Production of estimates, programmes and engineering solutions as part of project tenders along with carrying out safety and quality inspections.
This role is remote with regular travel to Northern Ireland.
Essential experience of the Senior Project Engineer Telecoms:
• Previous experience of operating at CRE Level
• Considerable experience in Telecoms Project Work
Desirable experience of the Senior Project Engineer Telecoms:
• Appropriate educational and technical qualification e.g., HNC/HND/Degree
• IRSE Licence holder in an Engineering Manager category, 7.8.110.
• Member of an appropriate professional institution.
