The role
As a Range Warden you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Range Warden is responsible to the Hades Small arms/explosives supervisor for providing support for the station 25 metre range. You are responsible for the issue, receipt, storage, and After-use of consumables associated with the 25 Metre range, also in assisting the armoury when required.
Day to day, you’ll manage the Range booking the Diary for the range, as well as:
The general maintenance of the range fabric, targets, and equipment daily as required by JSP403.
Ensure the timely reporting of requests for work services to the URSO/DURSO
Ensure the grass is kept short iaw AP3205 and JSP403
And the grassed area in front of the firing point is kept free form ricochet hazards.
Ensure that a regular supply of range targets is available and that the target centres are aligned with the datum on the range structure.
Ensure the range is presented in good order and fit for use before handing over to the RCO (Range Conducting Officer) at the commencement of each firing activity.
This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Halton.
Essential experience of the Range Warden:
Working in a customer facing support role with excellent communication both verbally and written in all situations.
Knowledge of Military environment is desirable
Excellent telephone and communication skills
Show initiative, ability to ‘get things done’.
Able to work accurately under pressure.
Ability to assimilate information for task completion.
Team player
Qualifications for the Range Warden:
