Job Descrption
This role is responsible for managing the program life cycle for energy conservation projects, which could include lighting, HVAC, multi-scope projects, and solar technologies. The Program Manager of Solar and Construction will serve as an owner’s representative for the phasing, implementation, and closeout of energy and efficiency programs in the US.
The Program Manager will oversee, plan, manage, report, and track the progress of each program under their direction. They are responsible for the external customer relationship and act as a customer liaison throughout the project. Program Managers are responsible for masterminding, outlining, and driving programs to completion. They are responsible for vendor management, budget management, risk identification and mitigation, program status reporting, escalations, and project schedules.

Required Abilities and Skills
- Develop, plan, and manage the implementation of Scope of Work as the customer’s trusted point of contact – generally operating as an owner’s representative.
- Conduct high touch day-to-day activities for highly complex nonstandard projects/programs for external customers.
- Includes developing customer-facing plans to document project scope, schedule, tasks, dependencies, change control, and risk management.
- Hire and manage vendors/ contractors, measuring performance and a communication feedback loop on program efficiencies or inefficiencies.
- Budget management, including change orders, vendor invoicing approval, contingency/ allowance management, and margin preservation.
- Always ensure quality construction standards and safety.
- Set program objectives and establish clear measures to define and meet program deliverables and timelines successfully.
- Drive strong relationships with customers by being a trusted advisor and advocate.
Education and Experience
- 4-6 years of program management or 2+ years experience in a relevant field such as energy services, construction management, energy installation, vendor management
- BA/BS degree required
- PMP, desired
- Familiar with multi-scope projects, solar and HVAC technology
- Experienced with multiple vendor management
- Outstanding knowledge of construction management processes and practices
- External customer-facing experience
- Experience with process improvement and strategic planning
- Actively engaged in process improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of the following systems: Salesforce, Asana (or similar), vendor invoicing, Program management tool (Smartsheet, Procore, or similar)

- Expected annual salary: $100,000 - $120,000 (subject to adjustment for relevant experience, skills, geo location)
- Annual bonus target of 15%, subject to company and individual performance
