The Opportunity
The vision of the Transfer & Deconstruction department is to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to transition the AGR sites from a defueling to deconstruction phase so they can safely and efficiently execute their decommissioning plans and seamlessly transfer to Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS), ensuring best value for the UK.
The core objective of the Transition and Transfer (T&T) team is to ensure that, at the point of transfer to NRS, each site has transitioned its arrangements to be capable of safely and effectively implementing their Decommissioning Plan, whilst demonstrating compliance with all regulatory requirements.
This role will play a crucial part in supporting the development and implementation of projects and transformation activities towards realising benefits of strategic importance. The role requires a good understanding of company processes, with experience in their deployment, as well as knowledge and experience of Power Station operations.
Pay, benefits and culture
We can offer a competitive salary from £54,391 to £84,892 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you’ll be doing
As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating the implementation of a new Integrated Management System (IMS) suitable for a fuel free site
- Engaging with NRS Ltd to understand their business processes to support IMS development.
- Collaborating with NRS Ltd to design and develop processes under the principle of targeted change.
- Working with process owners and other subject matter experts to support the development and deployment of processes as required by the business for the purposes of the transition and transfer programme.
- Facilitating implementation of these processes across the sites involved in transition and transfer planning.
- Identifying relevant training needs and arranging delivery of training as appropriate.
- Reporting effectiveness of process implementation, including the rationalisation of the number of company and local documents.
- Reviewing and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in process development and implementation.
- Supporting knowledge transfer by capturing & retaining the critical and important knowledge gained as part of the programme to support future transfers.
Who you are
You will hold a HNC qualification as a minimum in a relevant subject. A degree or a professional qualification in a technical subject in a related area would be advantageous. A qualification in training together with demonstrable training experience would also be beneficial.
You will have experience in project management.
The following may prove advantageous:
- Proficiency in the identification and use of digital tools and data analysis
- Depth of knowledge in the field of Human Performance and its application in ensuring Safety
- Site experience in the execution of processes, process improvement and resolution of challenges
Experience of working in a highly regulated environment is essential. Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 55001 and site license conditions, particularly LC17 Management Systems, as applicable to a nuclear installation would be beneficial but training can be given if required. Experience in a governance and oversight role would also be of value.
You’ll have the ability to work effectively in a high change environment and be skilled in the facilitation of change.
Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, with the ability to build strong working relationships and operate across a matrix organisation.
You will be a resilient individual, a team player but able to effectively challenge at all levels.
