Appointment Basis: Permanent
Location: Liverpool Train Care Centre, L15
Salary: £37,887.19
Shifts: 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts. This role will be a mixture of days and nights to begin with for training purposes. This will then turn into permanent nights.

Purpose of the job
To work as a member of a team to service, maintain, repair and overhaul fleet locomotives, coaching stock and equipment, including the latest generation in train technology to laid down specifications.
As part of a team, ensure that the fleet is serviced and maintained in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner whilst constantly seeking to improve quality.
Responsibilities
- FLT Driving
- Corrective maintenance (Electrical or Mechanical)
- Preventative maintenance (Electrical or Mechanical)
- D.P.P duties
- Fuelling and system top up
- General depot duties e.g.: Line of Routes
- Primary fault finding/reporting
- Basic maintenance competency e.g.: side skirt cleans, brake pads, block changes etc.
- Gritting of walkways in severe weather conditions and/or exceptional circumstances
- DMU service exams
- Depot cleaning/general housekeeping
- Driving company vehicles if certified
- Taking of fuel meter readings off rail vehicles
- Train cleaning by exception
- Alista, SAP and SES input
- Crane driving and lifting equipment and training
- Secondary fault finding
- Depot or fleet specific requirements: to be Authorised person where required, Wheel Lathe Operator, Workshop repairs, Hotel standards

- NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical Discipline essential or equivalent
- Rail experience preferred but not essential
- Maintenance experience preferred
