Appointment Basis: Permanent

Location: Ilford Depot, IG3

Salary: £44,851.92 for a 37 hour contract plus an allowance of £913 per month for working 44 hours

Shift: 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts, rotating days and nights

Could you be the full-time Team Leader in Ilford we’re looking for?

 

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your leadership expertise in a new cutting-edge field. We're seeking a dedicated individual to join us as a Team Leader, managing a maximum team of 22 talented individuals. You'll be responsible for ensuring all train maintenance and servicing activities run to their maximum efficiency and output. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, this includes total preventative maintenance, managing and supporting production staff in fault finding and technical investigations and much more.

 

Responsibility and Duties

  • Drives an environment and culture of safety using I-forms, 5s walks and Safety Conversations
  • Comply with and ensure the team complies with all Safety requirements
  • Maintain a professional demeanor that reflects commitment to quality, continuous improvement, diversity and respect for individuals
  • Actively engages with and promotes APYSYS actions and initiatives
  • Follow systems and procedures outlined by company / project manuals
  • Ensure Company policies and procedures are followed

 

Production Operations

  • Work as directed by and in-cooperation with the Operations Manager and comply with all depot protection procedures.
  • Organise workflow according to workload to meet delivery schedule.
  • Co-ordinate and control all jobs. 
  • Ensure the completion of all duties with a minimum of waste.
  • Report to the Operations Manager Daily on team and individual work accomplishments, issues, progress in tasks, deliverables and work processes.
  • Lead the team in resolving issues.
  • Coach, facilitate, solve work problems, and participate in the work of the team.
  • Assure that team addresses all relevant issues within VMI or Work instructions, specifications and various standards.
  • Escalate issues which cannot be resolved by the team.

 

Leadership

  • Provide a positive, motivating example for employees.
  • Conduct briefings or toolbox talks.
  • Communicate with the Operations manager on behalf of the team to inform them of any performance management issues and recommend subsequent actions, such as assignments, peer reviews and performance appraisals.
  • Create and environment orientated to trust, open communication, creative thinking and cohesive team effort.
  • Coach and help develop team members; help resolve dysfunctional behaviour
  • Provide guidance to the team based on management direction.

 

Equipment and Materials

  • Inform the Operations manager of equipment, material and production issues
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure the maintenance and upkeep of work area.
