Are you seeking to enhance your career and join us on our journey as our Technical Authoring Team Co-ordinator on a Permanent basis and make your mark with a globally renowned organisation in the rail sector? The purpose of the Technical Authoring Team Co-ordinator will be to support the production of documentation and manuals in line with company procedures.

 

Your future role: 

 This a great time to join our expanding team in services and business as part of your career plan. services are a critical part of the rail business, ensuring trains run reliably and safely. Alstom’s services portfolio covers the full lifecycle of rail assets to meet the needs of our customers and deliver high fleet performance and cost optimisation.

 

 

We’ll look to you for:

 

  • Administrate the workload of the Technical Publications Team
  • Develop and update web based documentation
  • Develop and update macros and code for task automation
  • Publish documentation using company approved tools
  • Work with the Technical Publications Team Lead to ensure on time delivery of documentation
  • Update illustrated parts catalogues by interpreting engineering change including engineering drawings
  • Deputise for the Technical Authoring Team Lead

  • In addition to your outstanding PC skills, you’ll have the ability to interpret engineering drawings, have coding experience (any language) and a good understanding of dynamic web page functionality.
  • It’s a must that you have good focus, attention to detail and the ability to work on numerous projects at the same time.
  • Furthermore, you’ll potentially be travelling to other sites, so a flexible approach is essential for this role.
  • BTEC level 3 or above or relevant experience
  • Experience in managing and planning workload
  • Good presentation skills
  • Mechanical or electrical technical background
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience of using Photoshop or similar graphics program
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and co-ordinate with different people at various levels within the organisation.

  • Rail Experience
  • Experince of Trainmate - Publishing
  • Experience of the Framemaker
  • Experience of Power Automate and Power BI

What we offer

We offer a highly competitive starting salary c. £50,000 plus 25 days annual leave with the opportunity to increase this to 30 days.
