FILM AND SMART SURFACE SOLUTIONS (FSSS)
Our newest division capitalizes on emerging trends in displays and in-mold electronics in the automotive industry. It combines our extensive offering of speciality films for the industrial and automotive industries with our developing portfolio of conductive and non-conductive inks. The combination of these products allow us to create a formed, structurally rigid three dimensional part that’s decorative with circuit pathways and enhanced electronic features to enable the human-machine interface in an automobile.
Support the Engineering Team to deliver improvement activities across all areas of the business, monitored against key manufacturing KPI’s such as yield loss, scrap, and customer complaints.
Assist the Engineering Dept to manage and implement key projects associated with Health & Safety, Environmental and Process Improvement.
Develop detailed project plans and schedules to effectively execute capital investment on time, within budget and communicate process to the Project Lead.
Work with the Project Lead to develop commissioning and validation plans for new equipment within the manufacturing environment ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards, implementation of Work Instructions and Standard Operating Instructions.
Keep pace with the latest technology and lean manufacturing techniques that can be implemented to improved site operations.
Use of CAD 2D & 3D to produce design and assembly drawings as required.
The Associate Process Engineer is responsible for the identification and implementation of process improvements and low value capital investment to install or replace assets covering the Wantage Manufacturing site, working with other members of the project team to develop the equipment scope of supply and implementation of turnkey projects.
Participate in and support multifunctional functional teams in the pursuit of continuous improvement, problem solving, and robust quality systems for the manufacturing processes.
Work with relevant managers and operators in manufacturing, spending time on the production lines to learn the process and propose improvements.
Support commissioning of new equipment within the manufacturing environment ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards, implementation of Work Instructions and Standard Operating Instructions along with necessary training requirement.
Ensure all risk assessments are complete for new work equipment, manual handling operations and process procedures.
Consider environmental implications of changes to manufacturing processes.
Support the development of effective preventative monitoring and maintenance.
Work with the engineering team to identify future capital investment opportunities to align with new market opportunities and growth.
Work with engineering team to identify and introduce best practice manufacturing methods into production.
HND or Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Knowledge of AutoCAD to view and edit site drawings.
Knowledge in 3D design software (Autodesk Inventor) is desirable.
Competent user of MS Office applications.
A desire to work and gain knowledge and experience of continuous manufacturing processes.
Good communication skills and ability to engage with both internal and external customers to obtain quotations and get agreement for proposed improvements.
