Financial Analyst
PFS, a division of GXO, is seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical Financial Analyst to join our finance team. The position will play a crucial role in analyzing financial data, providing insights, and supporting strategic decision-making within our transportation division. The ideal candidate will have a natural curiosity, strong financial modeling skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities
·Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Conduct comprehensive financial analysis for the transportation division, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
·Cost Management: Monitor and analyze costs associated with transportation operations, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide recommendations for optimization.
·Performance Metrics: Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for the transportation department, tracking financial performance against targets.
·Profitability Analysis: Assess the profitability of transportation routes, services, and initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance financial outcomes.
·Data Interpretation: Interpret complex financial data related to transportation activities and present findings to senior management in a clear and concise manner.
·Financial Modeling: Build financial models to support decision-making processes, including investment analysis, pricing strategies, and scenario planning.
·Ad-Hoc Reporting: Generate ad-hoc reports as needed, providing timely and accurate financial information to support various business initiatives.
·Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and supply chain, to understand business dynamics and contribute to overall financial success.
·Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance function and actively contribute to enhancing overall efficiency.
Qualifications
·Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.
·2-5 years’ experience, Required
·Proven experience as a Financial Analyst, with a focus on transportation or logistics, Required
·Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
·Excellent proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
·Knowledge of transportation industry dynamics, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
Personal Characteristics
·Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
·Effective communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
·Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work.
·Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when needed.
·Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
