Here at GXO, we are looking for a Health & Safety Manager to join us at our Greene King site in Trafford Park, Manchester, with occasional travel to support our sister-site in Bathgate, Scotland. Our site contains 3 different chambers: Freezer, Chilled & Ambient, as well as a Transport Depot, and various support functions. Therefore, your experience within the food industry would really be beneficial to this operation!

 

You’ll take responsibility for all thing’s health and safety, quality, and environment at site and help push our road to zero campaign. We’re looking for someone to champion and promote occupational health, safety and environmental awareness throughout the site whilst always leading from the front. You’ll play an integral part of our management team – are you ready for the challenge?

 

You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, primarily working Monday to Friday, 08:00 -16:00. However, some flexibility is required, due to the nature of the role. This is logistics after all!

 

Pay, benefits and more:

 

We’re looking to offer a salary of upto £46,000.00, dependant on experience and 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Monitor on-site health and safety through the use of effective internal audits, risk assessments and regular training
  • Develop and lead the site’s health and safety strategy, consistently identifying opportunities and ideas for improvement
  • Review sites’ working practices, incident trends and follow up actions from audits and incidents
  • Manage and monitor the implementation of all applicable quality, health, safety and environment policies and procedures

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential) or Diploma (desirable), WAMITAB Qualified (extremely advantageous)
  • Previous experience within an MHE environment will be a big tick from us
  • Exposure to accident investigation, including full analysis and reporting
  • The ability and confidence to influence senior stakeholders on all aspects of health and safety
