Our people and their safety are at the heart of everything we do here at GXO. Over the past couple of years more focus has been placed on people’s wellbeing, health and safety more than ever before and this is where we need you!
We are looking for a Health & Safety Manager to join us at our shared user site in Wynyard.
You’ll take responsibility for all thing’s health and safety, quality, and environment at site and help push our road to zero campaign. We’re looking for someone to champion and promote occupational health, safety and environmental awareness throughout the site whilst always leading from the front. You’ll play an integral part of our management team – are you ready for the challenge?
You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, primarily working Monday to Friday. However, this is a very busy, fast paced 24/7 site, so you’ll need to be flexible and arrange your time to ensure you know what’s happening on the night and weekend shifts. This is logistics after all!
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £50,000 per annum and 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes flexible dental insurance plans, a company sponsored pension scheme, a 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme. You’ll also have access to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, cashback cards, a saving scheme and much more!
What you’ll do on a typical day:
Monitor on-site health and safety through the use of effective internal audits, risk assessments and regular training
Develop and lead the site’s health and safety strategy, consistently identifying opportunities and ideas for improvement
Review sites’ working practices, incident trends and follow up actions from audits and incidents
Manage and monitor the implementation of all applicable quality, health, safety and environment policies and procedures
What you need to succeed at GXO:
NEBOSH General Certificate (essential) or Diploma (desirable)
Previous experience within an MHE environment will be a big tick from us
Exposure to accident investigation, including full analysis and reporting
The ability and confidence to influence senior stakeholders on all aspects of health and safety
