Summary

The Supervisor, Driver Operations at DSV Road Transport will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our transportation services. You will be responsible for supervising and overseeing a team of drivers, ensuring compliance with company policies, optimizing routes, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and a thorough understanding of transportation logistics.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, Mentor, and supervise a team of dispatchers, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure efficient operations
  • Conduct regular reviews and provide constructive feedback to a team of drivers
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture
  • Address and resolve any driver related issues or concerns
  • Plan and optimize routes to ensure fuel efficiency, reduce deadhead, and safe on-time delivery
  • Monitor and adjust routes based on traffic, weather, and other factors.
  • Implement strategies to reduce waste and transportation costs.
  • Ensure all drivers adhere to all DOT, Federal, State, and company rules and regulations.
  • Conduct regular Driver Meetings to touch on safety, operations, and concerns.
  • Collaborate with customer service teams to address customer inquiries and concerns
  • Maintain open communication channels to promptly resolve any delivery-related issues.
  • Strive to exceed customer expectations for Service Quality.
  • Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other technology tools to streamline operations.
  • Provide training to drivers on the use of relevant technology
  • Review and approve required documentation as needed
  • Additional duties may be assigned according to business needs.

Educational background / Work experience / Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Transportation Management or a related field
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation laws
  • Previous experience in a managerial position
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred
     

 

Computer Literacy

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and others)


 

Physical and/or Mental Requirements / Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand.  The employee is often required to walk and use hand and eye coordination.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.   

 

Work Hours and Environment

Normal working hours for this position are Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM or as assigned by manager, however, working beyond these hours will often be required by business needs. 

 

For this position, the expected base pay is: $69,000- $93,000/ Annual.  Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
